A nice example of an original phone. Also known as the "Banjo Phone" the Kellogg K-500 was an early set designed to complete with Western Electric's famed 500 set. Though the outer housing and handset were unique, the internals to the K-500 were similar to the early Western 500's. Most noticeable on the K-500 is the rounded Bakelite handset, which is actually more comfortable to hold against your ear and shoulder than the G-Style handset. The K-500 was only on the market for a short period, making this quite a rare find. Kellogg later fully licensed the 500 from Western Electric.
